Precision
Three things, three lifetimes
Conversations about retention go wrong because people use one word for three different objects.
The document you sent
Needed only during the conversion. It is not the thing with the hour-long life; the result is.
The result
Held for sixty minutes so you can download it, then removed.
The account record
That you ran a task, and when. This is the part that persists, because an account that cannot show its own history is not much of an account.
And when you leave
- The page tools work inside your browser, so those files are never sent anywhere
- PDF to Word, PDF to Excel and Office to PDF are converted on the server, and the result is deleted after 60 minutes
- Deleting your account removes your data, apart from billing records that have to be kept
Deleting the account removes your data, apart from billing records — those have to be kept, and any service claiming otherwise is either wrong or not keeping proper books.
